About Our Founder
As a young girl, Jasmine Joy innately knew her purpose on this planet was to support the biodiversity of animal species from humans to insects.
Jasmine found her calling as a specialist when she learned how to remove and relocate feral beehives on the North Shore of O'ahu in 2011. With all the hype about honey bees dying from Colony Collapse Disorder, she felt the need to start a grassroots organization encompassing conservation and education called, Beelieve Hawaii.
After establishing a bee removal service for three years, Jasmine agreed to her first partnership in 2015 with a nonprofit farm called, Hoa ‘Āina O Mākaha. This is where she piloted the Pollinator Program for two years and witnessed the positive impact it had on her students. In return, they inspired her to complete The 7th Kū 'Āina Pā School Garden Teacher Training program in Summer of 2017.
Encouragement from the community influenced Jasmine to popularize her curriculum, POP (Pollinator Outreach Program), by visiting schools and bringing rescued bees to the keiki. Her direction in life as an educator was confirmed, in October of 2019, when she captured a docile swarm inside the rainbow playhouse at Hanahau'oli School. An impromptu presentation for the JK students earned her a position there teaching an exclusive After School Enrichment course called, PolliNature.
Jasmine Joy is an award-winning apiculturist, recognized for her outstanding contributions and commitment to Hawaii’s American Veterans. She is a White Light Reiki practitioner that weaves the wisdom of honey bees through mentorship, public speaking, and energy work. As a multidisciplinary artist and professional athlete, her life is a vibrant canvas of magical realism. When she's not in the field tending to her pollinator sanctuaries… you can find her immersed in the wilderness or a spiritual practice, crafting apitherapy goods, gardening, dancing, writing/performing poetry, advocating for environmental and social justice, surfing, fitness training, and traveling to ancient beekeeping regions around the world.
