About Our Founder

As a young girl, Jasmine Joy innately knew her purpose on this planet was to support the biodiversity of animal species from humans to insects.

Jasmine found her apicultural calling in 2011 when she learned how to rescue feral honeybees on the North Shore of Oahu. She established Beelieve Hawaii as a bee removal service that organically grew into an esteemed educational organization specializing in pollinator conservation. After completing The Kohala Center’s School Garden Teacher Training Program in summer of 2017, Jasmine started developing outreach curriculum and bringing her rehabilitated bees to elementary campuses. She scaled up her business during the pandemic by launching, Beelieve University, an ethical beekeeping school. In 2022, Jasmine received the Community Service of Excellence Award for her outstanding contributions and commitment to Hawaii’s American Veterans.

Skilled in performing arts and multiple languages, Jasmine has been fine-tuning spoken word poetry since 2005. As a pioneer of women’s professional skimboarding, she worked with the youth and coastal villages of her parents’ native countries; Nicaragua and the Philippines. Jasmine ran the only eco-conscious company in her sport. Sol Shred Skim sponsored beach cleanup initiatives, hosted international clinics, and restored natural disaster zones. Jasmine’s pivot from ocean to pollinator advocacy fulfills her purpose more because by protecting essential insects she is supporting sustainable food systems and nourishing humanity.

Always on a pursuit of enlightenment, Jasmine is a White Light Reiki practitioner that weaves the wisdom of honeybees through mentorship, public speaking, and energy work. With Mother Earth as her muse, Jasmine’s life is a vibrant canvas of magical realism and animism. When she's not in the field tending to her apiary sanctuaries… you can find her exploring the wilderness, crafting apitherapy goods, surfing, or on a yoga mat. Lifelong goals of immersing in indigenous cultures wherever there are ancient beekeeping regions and honey hunting sites will surely add to her teachings through Virtual Beelieve University coming in March 2025.
