Happy Lunar New Year

Aloha from My Honey Heart

Hoping you and your loved ones are inspired and cozy during this time between seasons. Just wanted to drop in and extend my gratitude to you for being here and a part of the Beelieve Hawaii family. Your support means everything to me. My goal in 2025 is to connect with subscribers through other channels and produce a monthly musing but, to be honest, it might turn into a bimonthly/quarterly reflection. Please suggest any topics or YouTube tutorial videos you’d like to see me create by replying to this email.

Enrichment Education in the Roaring 2020s

For the last four years, Beelieve Hawaii has been weaving these original course offerings to students/groups of all ages:

  1. Pollinator Outreach Program (POP) for school visits

  2. PolliNature Program for after school contracts or camps

  3. Beelieve University’s “Intro to Ethical Beekeeping” for adults

In 2023, we set an annual record of bringing rescued bees to 17 schools and teaching 1035 students. A year later on September 26, 2024, POP celebrated its 7th anniversary as our pilot initiative! Truly embodying its onomatopoeia name, the program is explosive with engaging activities and native insect imagination. It is a favored presentation of second grade teachers because the topic of pollination is introduced at this age.

PolliNature Fridays at Hoa ‘Āina O Mākaha with the third graders of Mākaha Elementary have been a blast since the 2025 cohort started on January 10th. In full attendance, there are three teachers split between 69 students. Pilina (Relationship) to place as a pollinator sanctuary and the kuleana (responsibility) of cultivating a happy habitat is the theme of this 9-week in depth STEAM program. Each class opens with weather observation, sun/moon journaling, and a quick lecture on vocabulary words. Third graders must study and prepare themselves for a Spelling Bee Meet on March 14th.

“Intro to Ethical Beekeeping” is available online to North America for the first time ever on March 6th!
